Prologue
ОглавлениеThe YEAR 2022
“Stinkin' bats,” I muttered. I am Aaron Kronx, my 13th birthday had just passed a week ago and the world was in chaos. The President had just gotten Covid-19. Corona-virus (or Covid-19) had been going on since I was 10 and I had spent his last two birthdays in quarantine. I remembered thinking it would all end on my 11th birthday while playing with my new iPad and then the next year hearing the terrifying news that my favorite grandma was diagnosed with it. My family was packing all their stuff in bags the size of my 6' 10" uncle. The governments had recently chosen my family to be in the human survival program. They would send 3 quarters of humanity to 3 different planets which were uninhabited and create a different place for humanity to live (to evolve so they could survive better) and later join them together 30000 years later on a planet twice the size of Earth. I stuffed all my clothes, then my Xbox and iPad (just in case there was Wi-Fi tower there) when his Dad said,
“Everyone in the van the drive is 1 hour long”.
I got into the van and stuffed all my last and favorite stuff in a small (2 ft) compartment in my bag and lugged it across the garage and into our mini-van.
“Don't put that in there we have a bus over here,” a cop came out of a bus which looked like a Double Decker bus on steroids. As my dad pushed on the last bag that our family packed my heart skipped a beat. All my classmates and friends were on board.
“Um- son how old are you"? asked the cop.
“13,” I responded
“Okay then you will go up to the second deck where all the other 13-year-old kids will go just follow them,” he pointed to my classmates.
“Finally,” muttered Chris, “if I was squished between Sara and Mary for any longer I would have gone bonkers.”
“I'm sure they felt the same way bout you,” I teased.
…
When we finally reached the space-port I was on my 100th round of charades with the other kids from my group. After another hour of sanitation and security checks, we finally boarded a spaceship the size of my city! We were all assigned rooms the size of my house x2. The only sad part was that we still had to go to school and the trip would take 2 years. As we all settled in the ship began the count down to launch.
