Danish Tales

This edition represents a collection of short stories written by J. P. Jacobsen, Danish author and naturalist. Tales are wistful, dreamy and melancholic but also naturalistic. Table of Contents: "Mogens" is the tale of a young dreamer and his maturing during love, sorrow and new hope of love. "The Plague of Bergamo" shows people clinging to religion even when tempted to be «free men». "There Should Have Been Roses" is a tale of two roses, the blue one and the yellow one; one on the balcony and the other in the garden. "Mrs. Fonss" is a sad story about a widow's tragic break with her egoistic children when she wants to remarry.
