Gone are the days of swords and shields, knights and paladins. But warriors still walk among us. Their strength and grace is as effective in dealing with today's challenges as it was in olden times. Their intensity and resolve can be applied to every task in our day to day lives, from work to working out. Their patience and focus are essential to living a stress-free life. Their courage and fortitude allow us to seek success and happiness, not simply wait for it as so many others do. Their selflessness and love reveals to us the greatest purpose in life: service to others. Their balance and peace ensures that nothing will ever shake any of our other virtues. All of these elements combine to form the greatest inspirational tool of all: wisdom.

Peace + strength + grace + intensity + resolve + patience + fortitude + selflessness + focus + balance + courage + love = wisdom

Wisdom isn’t something you can scarf down quickly like food. You have to be patient and absorb it slowly, just as with building strength and endurance in your muscles. There is no such thing as overnight growth, not for body, and not for mind. There are 31 poems in this book not including the Intro or Closing (I count Perfecto’s Vault & Imperfecto’s Vault as one, be sure to read them together). That’s one poem every day for the next month. If you’re in a month with fewer days than that, consider the extras to be bonuses. Read one every day. Take the time to absorb the message and lesson in each one. Think about it. Just as you should do with food, slow down and chew on wisdom. You might taste something.
Get in the habit of doing one thing every day without fail that will benefit you. Make you wiser. Healthier. More patient. More selfless. More peaceful. Read something from a writer who inspires and motivates you every day. Forgo an unhealthy food every day. Cut back a certain amount on smoking or drinking every day. Resolve to exercise, no matter how short or simple the workout, every single day. You have the potential to be twice as productive, positive, energetic and peaceful than you are right now. Perhaps three times. Perhaps even ten. If you want it, you must build it, day after day, brick by brick. If you can stick to the schedule of one poem a day, every day for one month, you should be one step closer to understanding the importance of time and pressure. That is, after all, how diamonds are formed.
