About the Author

A former Alabama State Trooper, Air Force veteran and international speaker, Orrin “Checkmate” Hudson is a two-time World Open Speed chess champion who realized he could use his chess skills to make a difference in the world. Like the Queen, the Rook can move as many squares as he wants in one move. And while he can’t move in diagonals, he’s still the second most powerful piece in the game. He can dominate and control the entire rank or file he’s on, no matter how far away he is from an enemy. He’s powerful for both offense and defense, so use him wisely!
