When I was six years old, I used to play in a little, broken-down row boat in the woods behind our house. Covered in branches and vines, it was a shadowy, quiet place where I could hide and dream of adventure far away. I felt like I was in a different world from the one I knew, almost as if there was something near me I couldn’t see.
