I dedicate this book to my dad, Roy Clayton Syler, who passed away this year at ninety three years of age. He encouraged me, believed in me and I never wanted to let him down. That is probably a big reason I believed in myself. Bits and pieces of his sage advice pop up in these books as good lessons in life. He encouraged us to leave things a little better than we found them. He helped others without fanfare or need for recognition. He thought before he spoke and his word and a handshake was enough. I hope I can pass on some of his wisdom and goodness in these stories.
