The Great Buddha of Thailand is the tallest statue in Thailand, and the ninth tallest in the world. The statue stands 92m (300 ft) high, and is 63m (210 ft) wide. Construction commenced in 1990, and was completed in 2008. It is painted gold and made of cement.

Itsukushima Shrine

Itsukushima Shrine is a Shinto shrine on the island of Itsukushima or known as Miyajima, best known for its “floating” torii gate. The shrine complex is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Japanese government has designated several buildings and possessions as National Treasures.
