The right of every man to medical aid and the guarantee of free medical assistance in state and municipal healthcare institutions are enshrined in Article 41 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation. By its nature free medical care relations are of social security nature and therefore are regulated by the provisions of the social security law. This handbook is intended to focus its attention on matters which in their completeness are not the subject of study in courses of other academic disciplines. The peculiarities of legal regulation of the above-mentioned relations are presented and the theoretical foundations of their regulation are established from the perspective of the social security law.
