Can this custom last?

One man watching another suffer,

Can such life survive?

Survive before our eyes,

Survive here in our midst?

Lovely gardens, spacious fields,

Innumerable enrich this land,

Fruits and tubers, and grains in plenty,

Immeasurably it yields,

Forever and ever it yields!
