In writing this book, I was reminded of those who have shaped my life and brought me personal happiness and professional success. Executive producer Ken Corday has always made Days more than just a workplace, but a family; I thank him and casting director Fran Bascom for making me part of such an amazing show. My Days family (cast and crew) has taught me so much, especially Deidre Hall, who from my first day on the set has been my mentor and my friend; and my favorite co-star Bryan Dattilo, who doesn’t know how truly talented he is. With Days has come an incredible group of NBC executives whose support has led to more opportunities than I could have ever imagined.

Many people are fortunate to have even one strong support system; I’ve been blessed with several. A special thanks to my family—the Sweeneys, Gleasons, and Sanovs—especially Mom and Papa; my brothers, Ryan and Sten, who always encouraged me to soar but kept me grounded; my cousin Christy, the sister I never had; and Aunt Jane, whose wisdom, style, and friendship have always been invaluable to me.

Growing up, I aspired to have a circle of friends for life and I’m lucky to have found them: My best friend Carrie, with whom I share a brain, not to mention everything else in our lives; and Stephanie, Lauren, Shari and Ari are always with me, whether by phone or e-mail, in traffic or on a red carpet. “I love us!”

Saving the most important for last, my husband, Dave, has filled my life with love, laughter, understanding, and encouragement.
