Before commencing the second section of the elements of Ideology, which treats of the will and its effects, I am going to give a supplement to the first, which embraces the history of our means of knowledge.

Then will come the introduction to the treatise on the will, which presents the general considerations common to the three parts of which this treatise is composed.

The introduction will be followed by the first of these three parts, that which treats specially of our actions.
