My time

As I wake in the early morning hour, I recount how in our suite in Myrtle Beach there are not enough

TVs in each room. So one has to watch it in the living room or in the master suite. But everyone has a differ- ent bedtime situation. And I usually watch it almost to daybreak getting in all the cable I can.

So I chose to read and write as opposed to seeing Carolina play. It was a wise choice, and at daybreak, I drink as much water as possible because up until that point it was two straight days of nothing but soda for the caffeine man!

That’s a challenge, but success is achieved with no

B.S. Now, for the final day in Myrtle Beach. it is com- ing down to an outing. Is it going to be to the local mall or the less expensive flea market? Or another trip to the tired bar scene where they smoke in the bars? Or some- thing tricky like a coffee place to meet some people?

Cousin Ralph Jr., the barber, comes in this after- noon—after making all the money from cutting hair during the Easter weekend in Wilmington. So the cous- ins I do really conversate with since birth—they drink alcohol, and during the previous night’s barbecue, they drank the expensive lager.

Vaguely, it looked like some slight drunkenness but that, as always, is in the eye of the beholder. Meanwhile, mother and my sister and my two nieces are doing well here, so relaxation does exist!

For me, some of the girls I’ve seen thus far seem to be not showered looking so I’m looking and leaning towards a different type of young lady, but we shall see. My, oh my my, time in good ‘ole Myrtle Beach Easter weekend Thursday through Sunday—so hang on, it gets wide open in one of the top vacation resort type beaches in America!

My time in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina just moved to breakfast in the main house: grits, eggs, apple sauce and turkey bacon for those that are interested. My Uncle Parker sits reading the paper while I sit and catch up on college basketball. It appears the North Carolina ‘16 Tar Heels won last night 101 to 80. They beat Indiana.

And guess what? it appears that no one saw the game. They just went to bed. So now everyone is on the same page. Later on, they will be frying fish, and there’s still chicken left over from the previous day. So there should be a feast.

I’m still trying to see if there will be an early day outing. I haven’t gone to the coffee yet—that’s going to get extra serious as time goes on. For the Easter egg hunt, it is going to occur as planned. The kids shall be thrilled when that happens.

Oh yea, I ironed my shirt this morning, so that’s two straight days of decently pressed articles of attire that has been pressed. Instead of the freestyle-too many wrinkles everywhere-and just be like I will just outrun them.

So a case of Pepsi Max, and today I’ve taken my time consuming it as opposed to yesterday. The com- plete caffeine rush early and still managed to coast right there at the end. You see, that’s the thing. I brought a substantial amount of papers and two pens to write with. And as scripted, I wanted to write 30 pages of material. So good so far.

I tried out the grillers seasoned salt on grits earlier, and that was a change!

I still got a half-eaten bag of Doritos that we came down here with in the car. Yep, it took about two hours to get down here, so the five hour assumption is gone!

I think it seemed like that when we first came down a few years back. As time eases forward, I got to go to ccnc on Monday to Jacksonville, NC and the library on Friday the 1st.

Got to walk down to the Credit Union and get the credit card/gift card and send payment to Darcy at Tate Publishing and continue to move ahead with the game. It is a mental acrobatic mind flip that as it increases it gets better and better, to a climax.

As part of the family now I get all the deals via email of opportunities to take on. As time goes by, each sec- ond, I trip off the fact that outside of my initial family no one knows that I got a book deal.

So I dodge all the innuendos of so what are you do- ing now and I just say, “Taking it easy.”

Then they proceed to do as when we were little and give tell information on what they’re doing. My cousin Joey loves to speak about his business dealings, both in Brazil and in the states. It is so good to hear sometimes you have to avoid or overlook the brief occasions of repeating oneself, but I guess it’s all good.

I really don’t see myself traveling out that way (Brazil to be exact). Even though you rarely see people of color detained overseas, you never know, so I’ll keep you posted. For now I will call a timeout and chill.
