How to Build the Perfect Campfire

Оглавление

There are two key elements to creating the perfect campfire for roasting marshmallows: planning and patience. When using them both, anyone can do it.

Planning

To build a campfire, start by placing one log in the fire pit. Turn 4–5 additional logs on end and lean them together building a pyramid- or tepee-like tower over the first log. Fill the space beneath the tower with kindling: newspaper, twine, small sticks and twigs. Light the kindling (newspaper), and soon you should have a roaring blaze. Allow your campfire to burn down for at least 10–15 minutes before you start roasting marshmallows.

Patience

Sometimes it takes a while, but waiting for your logs to burn down will give you a warmer fire with better coals for toasting. There will also be smaller, more predictable flames, so your marshmallow will be less likely to burn.
