Wembley was special. The facilities were crap and it was overpriced, but the place was just full of football history. Every great player in the world has played there – Eusebio, Pele, Maradona, George Best, Bobby Moore, Puskas. They should have refurbished it and left it where it was. How the hell did the FA get away with knocking it down? The twin towers were art deco and things just don’t add up. Surely it was a listed building? Going to Wembley was a special day out for everyone – even going up the steps to get the trophy was special. No money should have been spared having it modernised and saving the history that went with the place. Let’s not forget we won the World Cup there. In a few years time the truth will come out and I bet some cunt’s been lining his pockets again at the expense of football fans.
