About the Author

Chander Parkash Lall was born in Mianwali, Punjab, India on April 6, 1932. Mianwali was at the end of the Railway line in those days. This part of India was close to the Afghanistan border and most of the people were tribesmen, Pushtoons, who migrated back and forth across the border quite freely. Chander’s Dad, Inder Mohan Lall Gera and his mother, Daropadi Chawla, moved to Lahore, Capital of Punjab where his father joined the ICS and became a Judge in the Punjab High Court.
