Chapter 1 Topical promises

Оглавление

First off I began asking the Holy Spirit, Who happens to be my BFFF -my Best Favorite Friend Forever- Who is the author of scripture for help. Because where to start when every area of life needs serious help? Well, the Holy Spirit knows best and He started with showing me how to go about it: topical.

Topical meaning relating to the different areas in my life where I needed help. Of every single area in my life where serious help was needed I first looked up the promises from the Word of God in my Bible, which I had already highlighted. Then I googled things like:

Health and healing Bible verses

Financial Bible verses

Faith Bible verses

Blessing Bible verses

Favor Bible verses

Peace, joy, love Bible verses

Success Bible verses

Children Bible verses

Protection, safety, security Bible verses

Household, home Bible verses

Wedding, Marriage Bible verses

I kicked off with the highlighted promises on health and healing, for the pain that I was experiencing was horrific. The pain was there morning, noon, and night. Also, I highlighted every single place where Jesus in the Gospel had healed people. That meant every single story of healing, and I highlighted them with colored markers. When I understood that these exceedingly great and precious promises on health and healing are life to me. All I wanted to speak about daily were these promises. This motivation to speak the promises of God comes from the scripture in Proverbs 4:22 that I showed you in the introduction of this book. We are now going to take a closer look at this promise of God written down in the book of Proverbs 4:22.

Proverbs 4:20-22

Everyone who really knows me knows that of all the books in the Bible, I love the book of Proverbs the most. The first time I read the book of Proverbs, tears were rolling down my face because I felt the words in my heart and somehow I knew that this book of the Bible would be very crucial in my life. I began learning it by heart but found out quickly that this was not an easy thing to do. So I just implemented this Bible book into my lifestyle. Back to Proverbs 4:22 NKJV, it starts by saying;

“My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart.”

The beginning of this Bible verse is very crucial for it gives us instruction, wisdom, understanding, and knowledge of what to do to live healed and healthy. The first part starts with: “My son”.

This indicates all the new born again believers who now have God as their Papa. Also, let me add here that when you see the Bible mentioning “son” it also means daughter, so ladies do not feel left out. Okay, here we see that God is talking to us as His children and asking us to do something, for all He wants is that you prosper in your life. And He never meant for us to be sick in our body or dying in the first place. I believe you would not want that for your children either. He is asking us as His children to pay or give attention, to listen to His words, His sayings. And where can we find His words?! In the Bible.

Then He asks us to incline (source Blue letter Bible) meaning: to turn, to extend our ear as part of our body, our ear as an organ of hearing, to uncover the ear the receiver of divine revelation unto His sayings, unto His promises. We hear so many things negative or positive all day long through our ears from people around us, television, radio, songs even what we ourselves are speaking negatively. So why not follow up on what Papa God is asking of us? Who cannot lie and only has our very best interest at heart. If you are a parent you would also want your children to do that, because you love them dearly and do not want anything bad to happen with them.

God has a way of saying things He will never force you to do anything, for you have been given a free will by Him so we are not puppets on a string. But He will give an instruction, an advice followed up with the good result that comes from it in this case Proverbs 4:22 NKJV;

“For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.”

In this part He tells us the benefits of listening, paying attention to His Word, and saying it will be Life. The Hebrew word for life is Chay (Source Blue letter bible.org, Google) meaning: living, flowing of freshwater, reviving, sustenance, appetite, renewal, to remain alive, to be restored to life or health, to be quickened, to live prosperously, to revive be quickened from sickness from discouragement from faintness from death.

Unto those that find, attain to, secure, acquire, get, detect meet, be lighted with His words and sayings. This will get you interested, right? And wanting to do the same I did after reading this. But let us continue to discover what the other words in this scripture means.

Health the Hebrew word for it is Marpe (Source Blue letter bible.org) meaning: health, healing, cure, profit, soundness of mind, remedy, medicine, deliverance. When we analyze the Hebrew word Marpe we see that it derived from the Hebrew word Rapha.

Rapha means: to cure, to heal, physician of men, healer of hurts of nations involving restored favor, to make whole, to make healthful, to be healed of persons of national hurts of personal distresses, to heal literal and of national defects or hurts. (Source Blue letter bible.org)

This promise just gets sweeter and sweeter, better and better, doesn´t it? Yet we are not done for the last part of this promise of God tells us that:

“It is health to our flesh”

This means that every meaning of the words life and health which we searched out are for our flesh, body, self so actually when you speak these promises from Gods word this is what you are saying, mind you to read it thoroughly, it has a lot of definitions in it:

"My son or daughter pay and give attention to my words, listen to my words and turn your ear to receive divine revelation. For my Words are living flowing with fresh water reviving you. Giving you sustenance, appetite, renewal, helping you to remain alive. For you to be restored to life or health, to be quickened, to live prosperously, to be revived and be quickened from sickness, from discouragement, from faintness, and death. When you find, attain, secure, acquire, get, detect meet, be lighted with my Words in addition you will have health, healing, cure, profit, be of a sound mind, having remedy, medicine, deliverance. Also it will cure, heal you as a physician of men, as a healer of hurts of nations involving restored favor, to make whole, to make healthful, to be healed of persons of national hurts of personal distresses, to heal literal and of national defects or hurts."

This is what Proverbs 4:20-22 is trying to tell us about God’s words and I do think that every single one of us can use one or two of these meanings in our life or body. Maybe you are like me and you need all of it (lol). This not just refers to health and healing because it tells us to be attentive to God’s Words, this means all of God’s promises, just receive it and start SPEAKING.

After having studied and figuring this out I became determined to SPEAK the promises of God over my life on a daily basis and being attentive to His words and sayings. Knowing now that it was the Word of God that healed me, it literally did! There was no one coming into my house daily to pray over me or to lay hands on me. It was the Word, it was Jesus Himself laying hands on me by me speaking His words of health and healing over my body.

Without further ado let us get in a position to speak these promises out loud. I will tell you my secret, which isn´t a secret at all, but I always start by preparing my heart and mind like this:

"Papa God thank you very much for your Word and I ask and thank you for your wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and revelation knowledge in Jesus name, Papa unlock my mind and heart and open up my understanding so that I can understand these promises in Jesus name, thank you. Now mind, heart, soul total nephesh [Hebrew word for the soul], spirit of my mind, character, conscious, subconscious, understanding, imagination, perception, purpose, intellect, appetite, affections, feelings, emotions, will, body and physical brain you keep these promises from Gods word in the forefront of my mind always. You walk by faith and not by sight, agree with it and make it the first thing that comes to mind in Jesus name. I believe and receive the word of God, I accept and agree with it, so mind completely be renewed by it now in Jesus name."

You can of course do it differently than I do. Also, it is not something you are commanded to do, but this is just for those who need or want to have examples of how we can open and prepare our hearts before speaking the promises of God forth and renewing our mind to them.

Health and healing promises

These promises of God on health and healing are the ones that I used personally. There are many more that I am aware of, but I chose to place the promises of God I had highlighted, put on my scripture wall, and printed out, spoken, used, and studied in random order except the first one.
