Angie and Heather, the two of you, have been my rock. When I told you I started writing you both supported me and gave the encouragement I needed. This was something I was doing for myself, never intending to put it out there for anyone to read. When I made the decision to show you the work I had done, it was because I knew you would give me a truly honest opinion. There would be no sugar coating with the two of you. Was I terrified? Yes, I was. Could I handle the truth, good or bad? Yes, you both know that I could. I love you girls, thank you for pushing me to move forward with my story.

To my better half, we were on vacation, you just returned from fishing. I was sitting at the table, notebook in front of me, pen in my hand, and you asked me what I was doing. “Writing a book” was my answer to you. Your response “That’s cool,” you didn’t laugh at me, never doubted me. You did what you have always done, you believed in me. I love you, babe.

Last but not least to my brother “B” it took me weeks upon weeks to tell you I was attempting to write. When you told me you wanted to see what I had done, I wanted to turn back time to the minute I picked up the phone to call you. I was up north the day you were ready to give me your thoughts on my writing. Sitting in a parking lot of a general store, because it was the only place I was able to get reception. You couldn’t see me, but I was shaking knowing I was about to get what you give best…the cold hard truth, whether sincere or harsh you always say it like it is. I don’t need to remind you of the words you spoke to me that day, but I will tell you something you didn’t know, I cried the entire way back home. The moment you said, “Yes, I like it.” I had to fight back the tears. I love you little brother thank you for taking my courage and stretching it higher than I ever imagined it could be.
