Estrous Cycle
ОглавлениеPlease note that two very similar words are used frequently in this book. The word spelled with an “o” (estrous) refers to females’ reproductive cycles. It includes all reproductive phases of intact (unspayed) bitches’ lives. Another word that is pronounced identically (estrus) is spelled without an “o,” and refers to “standing heat” periods, which are the second specific phases of estrous cycles. It is important to understand the differentiation. I will endeavor to use estrous only in combination with the word “cycle.”
This bitch in heat is wearing a diaper and looking wistfully out the back door.
