Towering over a landscape studded with skyscrapers, the financial heart of Singapore also has pockets of greenery and many outstanding attractions.

Business makes Singapore tick. Much of it was originally carried out by foreign multinational companies. Many are American, but others come from Great Britain, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, South Korea and other countries. Overseas companies have brought in skilled foreign workers. Many Singaporean families employ foreign maids, since both parents work, and construction workers from overseas are contracted to maintain the roads and the infrastructure.
