There is a saying in the African culture that a home is made by a woman. No one else can do that. Women have come to have increasing influence over the years. We have moved from the era where women were sidelined and left in the background to deal with kitchen matters. Today, women have more influence in society and in the marketplace. Women are now in leadership positions we never imagined they would occupy a century ago. A greater need for integrity has risen on the part of women. For with power, influence, and success comes responsibility. Below are ten things every woman must be if she is to have influence, success, and significance in life.

1 Woman of Prayer. Nothing brings one into alignment with power and influence other than prayer. Communion with the creator avails one of all the secrets unknown by the world. A woman can only rise up and be of worth in society and in business to the same degree that she is a woman of prayer. I do not know of anyone who made it in life without God by their side. It was all through prayer. Prayer afforded them a relationship with God and opened doors no man could open for them.

2 Woman of Integrity. If a woman is to go far in life and have respect both at home and at the office, then she has to be a woman of integrity. Where common women use their sexuality to manipulate their way to get what they want and get to the top, a woman set on success and significance will have to show integrity in her behavior and personality.

3 Woman who mentors. She is a powerful woman, one who mentors younger ladies and passes onto them the wisdom and insights she has drawn from life. She is a successful woman, set on impacting generations and living through teaching and instructing those under her. She will not only meet with success in her lifetime but will also leave an everlasting legacy and heritage for future generations.

4 Woman of Wisdom. The need for wisdom in the world cannot go unnoticed and unmentioned. Wisdom is imperative for a woman seeking success and significance in life, possessing it in abundance. All sound judgement and decision-making comes from wisdom. If there is anything a woman needs to build her house, her marriage, and even her business, it is wisdom.

5 Woman of Virtue. Nothing puts a sour taste in people's mouths like a woman without morals, a woman whose character and behavior leave many wondering whether she was properly trained as she grew up. Virtue is essential in a woman if she is to make a name for herself and be heard as a voice, instead of a mere echo. A woman must be excellent morally. She must be chaste. People will respect and honor a woman if she is virtuous. This virtuousness then allows her to influence and impact people's lives.
