REASON FOR THIS BOOK
ОглавлениеThis book is for the player/players who only get to play a few times each month, once or twice a week. You are at a big disadvantage by only being able to play so little.
Example: House Players and Players, playing for a living, play at least 40 hours per week, this lets them see thousands of hands per year. This gives them a better understanding of how other players play and what is expected of certain hold cards and future cards to come on the flop, turn and river. The objective for this book is to help you better equalize the playing field and help you become a better poker player. YOU “yes” YOU are up against big BIG odds when you sit down at a table. The less ”house and play for a living” players there is in the game the better off you are. Not much can be done with play for a living players, but house players you can avoid as discussed in depth later on in this book. I have proven ways to make you a better player and how to manage your game, money and time, by using these proven ways you should become a better player and in turn make a PROFIT instead of a donation. An that is what it’s all about.
Another reason for writing this poker book is that all the Poker Books on the market today are for the HIGH DOLLAR poker players (at least all the books I could find). These players mostly play high limit games usually $500.00 up to Millions of dollar’s-buy ins. There are a multiple amount of these games available, if the money is there, then a game can be found. This group of people come to the poker room with a bag full of money or an account with the casino and don’t care about re-buying multiple times as their bank role goes up and down on a regular basis, (these players believe in having a bank roll of at least 300 times) the big blind when sitting down at a table and if they loose, they will replace it tomorrow as money is not a problem for them. They are playing to set an example that they can play any game they want to. An money is just an obstacle in play at the time.
Books on the market explain to the reader how much money you need in your bankroll to play different games. The player is suppose to already to know how to play and all they are going to do is explain to you how they already made their millions by playing better hands and/or bluffing others off hands by betting 3/6 times the pot. These books go into great detail in how to read players by (watching their eyes, hand movements or how their betting changed) different situations. These books have whole chapters on statics, odds and probabilities. I say all their statistics, odds and probabilities are BS, as no one knows what the next card is going to be.
All the books on the market today, the Author brings in professionals in each type of poker game. Most professionals specialize in a particular game. Sure most can play most all poker games, but they are not comfortable when out of their expertise. These professionals will write a complete chapter about a particular game, how they play hands in each different situation that they can remember. How they bet and when to bet and how much money you should have in order to be competitive. A complete sortie of playing hands play by play.
So you can see why I say only 1% of the players play High Limit. This is because the other 99%, “US” cannot afford the blinds, let along the back up bank roll needed to enter these high dollar games.
There is a big difference between the games seen on television and your live play game. Almost all tournaments involve a large buy-in. All are using chips, which are not a one for one exchange, usually a designated amount for the type of tournament. Usually the bigger the tournament the larger the chip exchange. Live games are going to equal chip per Dollar, because they usually have backup Dollars on the table. If only the viewer would take these games as a entertainment, not facts, guides or helpful, they would be much better off. These games are usually on television for one hour, but the entire game was probably 8 to 24 hours depending on the schedule and how many players were signed up. It takes weeks of editing to get the production down to one hour, actually 50 minutes with commercials involved. The viewer only gets to see the most controversial and biggest player hands. So for your own sake please use these Televised poker games as entertainment, if you take anything from these programs, watch the betting patterns and how one player will announce a players hand prior to him open-en it. These guys pride themselves when correctly reading another player. Again this is players that play with each other hundred of hours each year and have a good ideal as to how a player bets, gives them a good understanding of his/her hand.
You and I (the other 99%) Will continue play our low limit games. If you take my advice on playing that I give you in later chapters, you to some day may be able to move up in your game structure and that should be your intentions.
So because we are small as a individual, always remember we are strong in numbers. Why did I just say the above statement, maybe we should start to ask for the same benefits that the High Limit Players receive. Mostly the perks that high limit players get over the low limit players, their jack-pots are usually bigger and they also get free meals in most poker rooms (card rooms). But, The jackpot drops and casino drops will be the same for each game, until you get to the very low limit games. Lets all start asking the floor personal and section managers for free meals and lets see what happens.
