I must at this stage appreciate some people who have in various forms contributed to shaping my life and prepared me for the assignment God has for me.

First, all glory be to Jesus; who called us into this wonderful and privileged mission to preach the gospel. Then to my parents, family, partners and friends for their wonderful support and encouragement through these years.

I also thank God and Senator Jim Nwobodo for the privilege of working with his Satellite Newspapers as a teenager. It was there that I developed the interest in writing. In fact, my first ever news report published was in that newspaper, in 1991, when the Owerri main market got burnt. I still remember the headline, ‘Owerri Market Gutted By Fire’.

I thank Sir Victor Mbanisi, the chairman of Banex Group Lagos for also giving me the opportunity to work in his large organization. In fact, he entrusted me with the massive company’s central warehouse; where I received and distributed variety of goods from abroad to all of our sales channels throughout the country. It was a very challenging job. He also was giving me some spiritual assignments, even when I was not yet a pastor. That was my last secular job.

I must also thank the leadership of the Assemblies of God Nigeria for giving me the rare privilege of serving as the pioneer Public Relations Officer of the General Council. All these responsibilities thoroughly prepared me for the task ahead and for the ministry. May God bless you all!  –  Gabriel Agbo
