I was writing since my early childhood because I was in love with words – with art of language – at that time (and, sometimes, now) it seemed to me magical.

However, I was not ambitious, – I had low self-esteem. I gave up on writing and almost gave up on myself when I was a teenager.

Now, all of a sudden – I am writing again. If one person not because of a duty or academic assignments suddenly starts to write poetry, we shall know, that person is in love. The person who wrote poetry included in the book is I, Galina Nelson and of course, I am in love, it is true.

I was also through a lot of pain and hurt and if someone says to you that there was enough drama on my plate to turn one into a hater, you shall know, it is also true. Fortunately, love is stronger and more powerful than hate and this is the reason I did not turn into a hater. I am in love, – with my country – USA, with my daughters – Anna and Angelina, with my man, their father – Ryan Nelson, with our family and friends, with our Creator.

As you understood, my life was not easy during past few years. I could not be with my children and husband as much as they and I needed, due to extremely unfortunate circumstances. Often, I spoke to my family through my writing, through the power of written word.

My poetry is coming from my heart. Love is healing, love is powerful – yes, and I hope my poems can reflect and share the power with you – and heal our world, word by word, little by little.
