The Elephant, the Mice, and the Mouse*

Оглавление

«The mice are what the elephants fear,

It is a terrible enemy, my dear!»

A conference the giants held

Was to elect the beasts’ chief,

The one who ought to geld

The enemy and cut his beef.

Anointed Mouse suddenly took the floor,

And a tremor of awe went through all.

«I’ll give you freedom and compassion,

I’ll protect you, with all my passion!

I shall lead the nation

To go to war against mice,

To plug these damn lice

Who threaten you with defloration.

I’ll hit the terror by my terror,

I won’t make a big error,

I will kill the whores!»

And brave Mouse waged wars.

Who’s the king of jungles? The Mouse!

It is the fable of the White House.

«The Mouse is above, the mice are below;

Where to hide the poor elephant John Dow?»

This fable was published in «Centres of Expression», Noble House, London, UK (2008)
