Staying in the Game

Оглавление

Your need for instruction declines proportionately as you gain expertise. In other words, if you are a rank beginner, you need 100 percent supervision. Not only is this critical from a safety perspective, but it is also the key to building good habits and developing correct position from the very beginning.

If you are an expert, you owe it to yourself to find ways to continue learning. Your skills will improve from reading books, taking lessons, talking to your peers, conducting or participating in clinics, or judging horse shows. Though instruction may take a lesser proportion of your riding time as your expertise improves, when it comes to horses, no one will ever know it all.
