Chapter 6 MY THIRD MIRACLE

Оглавление

In 1964 soon after my third child was born, they put me in the hospital. The pain I had on the right side of my stomach was excruciating; I could hardly walk or stand up. My doctor thought I was having a severe case of appendicitis and that it was on the verge of bursting. When tests results returned, I was diagnosed with diverticulitis. I was in the hospital less than a week as they needed to defeat the infection and get me strong enough to be able to come home to take care of my family.

The second time this occurred was in 1991, I was going to a different doctor. Dr. Kon was afraid that it was my appendix and wanted me to go and have a colonoscopy. I tried to tell him that this had happened before and it was my colon. He was not about to take any chances or believe my word. He made arrangements for me to go to the hospital to have a colonoscopy. The results were that it was not appendicitis but diverticulitis. I was told by the person giving the colonoscopy that my appendix was full which was explained to me that being full meant there never was any trouble with my appendix. The doctor said it is very unusual for someone to have trouble on the right side as generally it occurs on the left part of the intestine.

He sent me to a specialist in this area of medicine and this doctor wanted to operate and take out part of my colon. That was not something I wanted or believed that God couldn’t heal me from. At my next prayer meeting I was prayed over for this obstruction and then I was Slain in the Spirit. As I was lying on the floor, it felt like a woodpecker was pecking right below my rib cage. It kept going back and forth across the upper part of my stomach. I do not remember how long that continued but from that day forward, I have never had another attack of diverticulitis. Praise God for this miracle; HE is faithful; just as it says in Psalm 9:10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

I can remember around six years of age being diagnosed with appendicitis. Even back then I recall the great amount of pain I had been in. It is quite evident that it was diverticulitis then, especially after being told that my appendix was full. The Lord is my shepherd, in Him will I trust.
