The story of St. Andrews is unique in the history of Canada, and it is most fitting that Miss Grace Helen Mowat’s fascinating records of the early days should be kept in print.

An earlier edition of The DIVERTING HISTORY of a LOYALIST TOWN has for many years been unobtainable outside the libraries and private homes of those who obtained copies more than twenty years ago.

Miss Mowat adds a chapter to her book which brings the history up to date and she is to be complimented on her lucidity of expression as well as the freshness of her memory.

Miss Mowat is an authority on the traditions of Charlotte County and scarcely a week goes by but the Registry Office sends on to her a visitor who has called to inquire about his ancestry. Miss Mowat is tireless in her activities on behalf of these strangers. In her new edition Miss Mowat tells us the disposition of the famous homes and houses of early St. Andrews, as well as adding an excellent account of those who have within the last few years built summer houses or year-round residences in the charming seaboard town.
