One of the main environmental problems, faced by the world today, is the contamination of soil, water, and air by toxic chemicals. With the extensive use of pesticides in agriculture and industrialization, the pollution of the environment with mandate organic compounds has become a serious problem. Laccases have many possible applications in bioremediation. Laccases may be applied to degrade various substances such as undesirable contaminants, byproducts, or discarded waste materials.
