ОглавлениеFirst of all we wish to thank the service users and the professionals in our field sites. Without their active participation and engagement, we would not have been able to study the reality of multi-agency meetings as they unfold. This book is dedicated to them.
We would also like to thank the many colleagues who have supported, encouraged and challenged our studies of meeting interactions in social welfare over the past four years. The original idea for this book surfaced at the 13th meeting of the Discourse and Narrative Approaches to Social Work and Counselling (DANASWAC) network in Tampere, Finland in August 2016, where one of the sessions focused on multi-party meeting talk. Since then, the chapters have been discussed and developed yearly at DANASWAC meetings. Early versions of the chapters were also presented at the seventh International and Interdisciplinary Conference on Applied Linguistics and Professional Practice (ALAPP) in Ghent, Belgium in November 2017, where we held a panel on multi-party meetings in interprofessional work.
Research presented in Chapters 1, 5 and 7 was partially funded by the Academy of Finland (decision number 307661).
Research presented in Chapter 3 was funded by the Department of Sociology and Social Work, Aalborg University, Denmark and the Department of Social Work, University College Copenhagen, Denmark.
Research presented in Chapter 8 was partially funded by the UK Economic and Social Research Council’s Impact Acceleration Account through the University of York, UK.
