In the past 2 decades, we have witnessed significant improvements in stereotactic imaging technologies. Currently, MRI is the imaging of choice at most centers. CT imaging can be used in addition to MRI. In future, more accurate imaging techniques and improved software to handle functional images, such as HDFT and MEG, will provide superior treatment resulting in better patient outcomes.
