ОглавлениеThe initial selection of potential key risk indicators undergoes further scrutiny with the aim of singling out those indicators whose characteristics are more likely to ensure reliable measurement of meaningful dimensions. The evaluation is performed in regards to three dimensions:
Feasibility of measurementGiven the objective to select indicators that are reliable and can be addressed with actionable measures, it is pivotal to evaluate the ease with which each indicator can be measured from existing information and the need to implement new processes/tools to do that.
Availability of data during ordinary business/control processesIndicators based on data which are significant and ordinarily used in other processes can be more easily explained and assessed for consistency.
Relevance for regulatorsPreferred indicators shall capture dimensions that are specifically targeted by applicable regulatory requirements and that, for this reason, can be typical areas of investigation for authorities and control functions.
