Assignment 2: Blueprint

• Draw a blue print for a corporate PMO or the one you would like to create in your own organization (15 min)
• Present to the group (10 min)
Assignment 3: Outline plan
Individual or (affinity) groups:
• Create an outline plan for the establishment of the PMO described in the blueprint in the previous assignment (15 min)
• Present to the group (10 min)
Assignment 4: Center of Excellence
Individual or (affinity) groups:
You are a member of the center of excellence and you have to facilitate a lesson learned workshop (10 min).
• Create a possible agenda for the workshop
• Put the answer on a flip-over and discuss
Assignment 5: Tools
Individual or (affinity) groups:
• Create a list (or drawings) of the tools you are using in your organization
• Prepare to explain your tools (15 min)

Assignment 7: Risks
Individual or (affinity) groups:
• What do you see as the biggest risks for a P3O organization in your organization?
• What can you do to mitigate these risks (10 min)?
Assignment 8: Vision statement
You are going to re-vitalize or build your PMO. Your vision statement will help to create buy-in for your ideas.

Answers and explanations assignments
The assignments do not have a clear-cut answer, partly because they are practical assignments. It is important to evaluate the assignments and to pay extra attention that certain aspects are used during the assignments.
The answers/explanation to the assignments give you subjects to discuss in the evaluation. The following aspects need to be present in giving a full explanation of the assignment.

• The plan must contain a realistic time scale

Explanations 8: Vision statement
Content:
• Clear statement of the end goal of the PMO
• Any imposed constraints
• Context for the programme
• Any relevant information to help set expectations
• Any information to support the justification for change
Quality criteria:
• Is written as a future state
• Can be easily understood with implicit benefits for all key stakeholders
• Describes a compelling future that engages the heart and the head
• Is short, memorable and easy to communicate
• Is verifiable without too many detailed performance targets
• Sets out the current reality as part of the justification for the change
• Is sufficient flexible to remain relevant over life of the programme
