"Renting with Rex” is an informative book about how to increase your chances of being able to rent and own a pet at the same time. The assumption is that many landlords will not rent to people with animals. Ms. Phillips educates the readers about how to make it more likely for a dog owner (specifically) to be able to successfully rent.
The book is divided into thirteen chapters, with such topics as 'Moving with Your Dog,' 'Preventing Undesirable Behaviors,' and 'Renting an Apartment as a Pet Owner.' In addition to information on renting more successfully while owning a pet, Ms. Phillips also makes many positive recommendations for how to make sure the dog gets enough exercise, how to crate train a dog, what kinds of collars to use, and what toys are most effective for different sizes of dogs. She stresses good animal health by promoting veterinarian visits. The benefits of spaying or neutering your pet are also described.
It is obvious that Ms. Phillips loves dogs. She has an extensive resume of working with animals and has seemingly devoted her life to protecting dogs and ensuring that they find good homes. She seeks to give valuable advice. I appreciate her advice and important information."

Jackie Phillips has just written a book that should be in every renters and landlords library. If you’ve ever rented, or tried to rent with a dog you know what I am talking about, it can be extremely difficult to find a new home that will allow dogs. Jackie thoughtfully addresses the situations that can arise and has helpful solutions on how to find your new dog friendly home, offers tips, how to’s and training suggestions to make your pet a landlords dream.

Dino is an absolutely wonderful dog, and my life would be totally different without him. He is also my business partner and helps me to find lost pets by tracking them after becoming missing. We spend lots of time together. He was adopted by Grateful Dogs Rescue (www.gratefuldogsrescue.org) in 2005, and we have been best buddies ever since.

Rusty is a true gentleman in every sense. He is kind, gentle, thoughtful, loves to cuddle and he gives wonderful hugs. There is not a single thing Rusty can’t do, even for a very small dog. He was adopted from a shelter in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Mercury is my first cat. I have always had allergies to cats, but, luckily that eventually went away. I got Mercury as a long coated, four month old, orange tabby kitten to help me train Dino to look for cats, and he has been a trooper for dealing with the busy house full of dogs, birds and rabbits. I look forward to seeing his grumpy mug every day.

Palo is the next generation tracking dog. He was adopted from Canine Adoption Rescue League (www.carlvc.org) in Ventura County, CA. When I finish my next books, I promise to start his training! In the meantime, he is Rusty’s best friend and everybody else’s best friend. He raises eyebrows every where he goes because he is so handsome.
“June”
Woodacre’s Soidog Mali
June is the latest addition, recently adopted from a shelter in Thailand (www.soidog.org). A survivor of the horrible dog meat trade in that country, she has some stories to tell when she is ready. For now she is hanging out, resting and getting to know the world and all of its beauty.
And to all the animal friends I have shared my life with in the past: Dot, Scout, Chessie, Rowdy, and, of coarse, Prezo, the dog who started the addiction.
