“You can do that? Pretend? That Saturday night never happened?”

She tilted her chin up. “Yeah, given your rep, I know you can.”

His brows snapped down. And then before she knew it, his lips were on hers. Harsh and firm. His tongue delved into her mouth and demanded she respond. Traitor that her body was, she melted as if today was a continuation of Saturday night and Sunday morning. She knew that when it came to him, she was weak. She wouldn’t be able to stop.

Gabe pulled back. “Still want to pretend we don’t know each other?”

“I could really go for something sweet.”

“Yeah,” he said distractedly. “I could, too. There’s just one thing I have to do first.”

“What?”

He grabbed the edges of her towel and tugged on them until her body was pressed against his again. She looked up at him, curiosity in her eyes, but that changed when he inched his mouth closer to hers. He didn’t want to steal a kiss. He didn’t want to take her by surprise. He wanted her to know it was coming.
