Will your retirement days be time-filled or time-empty?

To get an idea how well you'll handle time once you're retired, or how well you're presently doing in retirement, take this simple quiz. For a typical one-week period, estimate in half-hour increments (0.5, 1.0, 1.5, etc.) how much time you think you'll spend, or are spending, on the following activities:

Meal preparation ____
Housework, yard work and maintenance ____
Gardening ____
Exercise (walking, jogging, swimming, aerobics, weight training, etc.) ____
Sports (bicycling, golf, tennis, hiking, canoeing, pickleball, etc.) ____
Organizational activities (committees, civic meetings, social, religious services) ____
Volunteer work (church, civic, school or special causes) ____
Classes of any kind ____
Studying or prep for classes ____
Computer time (email, web surfing, IM, etc.) ____

If male, add 77 hours (for sleep, eating, and personal hygiene) per week ____
If female, add 80.5 hours (for personal hygiene) per week ____

Subtract the net total from 168 (the number of hours in a week)
Total “additional” time per week ____
For an average day, divide by 7 ____
