CHAPTER 9

Оглавление

Miguel saw a small cafe with outdoor tables. He sat down for lunch and observed the activity that was around him. Even though it was cool, the warmth of the sun felt pleasant on his skin. It was definitely an upscale and busy area, with many people bustling around at lunch time. He noticed the office buildings surrounding him, and he noticed a line beginning to form for seating at the cafe. In particular he noticed the attractive women that were waiting. He would definitely pick one of them to invite to share his small table. He was sure that his choice would agree to sit with him, if for no other reason than to expedite her lunch.

He smiled at a young well dressed woman with long blonde hair. She smiled back in a flirtatious way. He stood up, and walked the few steps to the people waiting in line. He walked straight to this woman and pretended that he had been waiting for her arrival. “Won’t you join me at my table? I’m so glad that you were able to come today!” She looked around her, thinking that perhaps he was speaking to someone else. He winked at her and pointed to his table. She stepped out of the line and followed him. He pulled out her chair, and they didn’t speak until he was already seated and had waved for the waiter to come to the table. “Miguel - glad to meet you,” he said. “And your name?”

“Carole,” she said - still trying to figure out what had just happened!

“Well hello Carole - let’s enjoy a nice lunch together!” He could see the indecision on her face, but the waiter was at the table now and ready to take their orders.

They actually had a pleasant lunch. She insisted on separate checks, and he agreed in a polite fashion. He asked for her phone number so that they could meet again, and she handed him her business card on which she had written her cell phone number, as she walked away. He still had his talent with women - he was glad of that! Forget the office building and the bar for today. Instead he would walk around for a while longer, and then go back to the apartment. He could still go to the bar tomorrow before the weekend, and then he might find someone to spend most of the weekend with, before school started on Monday. If not, he might call Carole! Starting next week he would only have time on weekends for play. He would be busy enough with his studies, but he would also have to make sure that he was invisible on campus. No flirting with women! No friends! Even the professors could not recognize him! He hoped they would be impressed with his work in class, but he had to be sure that he was a student that no one would remember!

On the following afternoon he walked over to the office building and found the bar on the ground floor. It was still early, but there were a few people at the bar, and a few more at some of the cocktail tables. Most of them were men, as he expected. There were a few groups of women at two of the small tables, and there were two women by themselves at the bar. One was an older unattractive woman, but the other one was more his type. She had dark long hair and looked like she might have a nice body. She sat quietly sipping her martini with her head slightly downward as if to let the guys know that she wasn’t interested. He quickly noticed that she didn’t have any rings on her fingers, so he decided to walk slowly up behind her. When he was a few stools away, he definitely could see that he had made a good assessment of her body type. She was dressed conservatively in a black suit, but he could see that although she had ample hips, they were a perfect match with the rest of her body. He reached forward next to her in order to get the bartender’s attention. She raised her head ever so slightly so she could see who was next to her, and she quickly returned to her former position thinking that he hadn’t noticed. He chuckled to himself - of course he noticed. As he was struggling to get the bartender’s attention, he turned his head slightly toward her and apologized for his intrusion into her space. She couldn’t help but smile at him.

“You must be new around here,” she said still shyly looking downward into her drink. “His name is Tom,” pointing to the bartender. “And what is your name?” He asked. “Ann,” she said in almost a mumble.

His charm worked for him again. He was able to keep the conversation going and soon they moved from the bar to a cocktail table of their own. He discovered that she worked in the building, but he gave very vague statements about himself other than that he was new in the city. Soon they made arrangements to meet the following day for a quick tour of the city and dinner. After a slow two drinks, they left the bar together. He kissed her gently on the cheek, and smiled as they separated - until tomorrow he thought! Happily he walked back to his apartment, had a snack for dinner, and emailed his father. Turning on the television for the noise, he took a shower and went to bed.

The weekend went well for him. Ann had nothing to do with the University, therefore Miguel could feel free to spend time with her. He had learned a lot about the city in their short tour, and she was very accepting of him. By the time they had dinner on Saturday evening, he knew that he would soon have his way with her. After a few glasses of wine at dinner, she agreed to go to his apartment. Yes- things went very well! She was not reticent about giving him her cell phone number in the morning before they went to the cafe for Sunday brunch. She would be a very needed diversion from his studies. When they left the cafe they agreed to say goodbye for now. She left in one direction and he walked in the other. She turned around and blew him a kiss and waved. He smiled and waved in return.
