Me and my new home

Оглавление

My name is Moony. I was a usual white kitten. It all started when I turned 2 months. Our hostess entered the room I lived in with my mom, brothers and sisters and took one kitten away.– It's time to live on your own with your new hosts, my dear – Mommy said.

Then my turn came. I got in a car and it started moving slowly. Buildings and trees were flashing before my eyes bringing me to tears. I was shivering, all my thoughts were with my mommy. I didn't know I was on my way to a new life of magical adventures. Sad and tired, I fell asleep on the way to my new home. A strange voice woke me up.

– Hey, kitten! My name is Wikky. It’s your new home from now on. Let’s be friends!

– Good evening! – I purred in reply and looked into girl’s kind shiny eyes. I had peace in my heart then. – It’s sad that people can’t speak with animals! I bet we’d have a lot of things to talk about.

– Yeah, that’d be cool – she smiled. – Don’t be surprised, I hear your thoughts and I know how to make you speak.

Wikky’s eyes started shining brighter and she took me in her hands and brought me close to the window.

– Look, kitty, what a marvelous starlight night! The moonlight magnetizes so much… One man's mystery and another man's path to the dream! – Wikky sat in the rocking chair near the window and thought deeply. – I’ll call you Moony. Take a nap, we have a long drive ahead of us. We’ll make a journey, a strange one.

I felt warm and toasty! The smell of caramel washed all over me, candlelight putting me to sleep sweetly.

Little dog’s sounding barking made me open my eyes. My mom told me a lot of stories about dogs, so my hair stood up.

– Don't be afraid, Moony. It' just Waky, my magic alarm clock. He just looks like a dog. He helps me not to sleep on important things. And there is a full Moon tonight, that is when magical transformations take place! Come on, let’s get some food and go, there’s a lot I want to show you!

– It's really early, where will we go? – I wondered.

Stomping my paws on a cotton candy-soft carpet I followed my new hostess flying into the kitchen. It was more like a library. There was an enormous closet resting against the wall, with books and drawers full of small bottles of different colors. There was a big round table in the middle of the room with an antique chandelier hanging. Wikky sat at the table, closed her eyes and spelled with a snap of her fingers:

– Mr Tasty!

– What'll it be? – A ghost in a giant black hat showed up suddenly.

– Cream tea, buns, pink jam and one more cream for my new friend Moony.

– Your wish will come true within a minute, Ms. – With these words Mr Tasty disappeared.

– You see, Moony, you want lunch – you got it. That was my cook-butler. Don't be surprised, somebody always comes and goes around me!

– Your lunch! – Mr Tasty came out of nowhere with a tray. – Bon appetit! – He said leaving a trail of sweet scent behind.

Later I learned that sweet scent always accompanies magic.

Wikky put me and Waky in a backpack, put on a light coat and went outside.

Autumn gold-plated leaves were whispering and gossiping in a breath of warm wind. A million stars were watching us with the wisdom of hindsight. It was a very special night.

There was a bright yellow car in the back yard, glass roof reflecting the Moon like a mirror.

It was an unusual car. The girl called it Broomy.

You may probably know that every witch has a broomstick and she can fly away wherever she wishes. Well, Broomy was a unique Wikky’s invention, it could turn into an elusive spaceship.

Wikky just had to push "Broom Power" button – two magic broomsticks put the car up in the air.

Broomy glared at me and gave a wink with one headlamp.

The doors opened and we sat in special chairs. I was surprised to find a special sit just for me! Wikky told me that she had been preparing for this journey for a long time, then she played music loud and pushed the cherished button.

We got off the ground and hurried up to the alluring Moon.

I didn’t know why but I wasn’t scared at all – on the contrary – pleasure took my breath away! Maybe it’s just that cats feel confident when in the sky, thinking that they will land on their feet, or maybe the music was good. I сan say one thing – that was the greatest thrill of my life!

Sensing zero gravity Wikky turned off the music and told me that I had to know something. Something that all heroes keep top secret!
