GIVE HIM DIRECTION

A beautiful home doesn’t have to be large; it doesn’t have to be a mansion or situated on a hilltop looking down on everyone else. But, it does have to be well-maintained.

Where you decide to live tells a man how much you value the quality of your life. When he drives through your neighborhood, he needs to be able to see himself spending time there, taking walks with you, shooting hoops at the neighborhood park, or running out to the local grocer for that perfect bottle of wine.

So, hopefully, you have chosen wisely and aren’t in an area where there are prostitutes combing the streets at night or drug dealers lurking in the shadows. Sure, I understand everyone’s circumstances are different, just as I understand every man is different and it takes a certain kind of man to not be bothered by such elements. The point is, you are what you attract. If you want a better quality of man, you absolutely, no doubt about it, have to live a better quality of life.

That being said, Decor and the Single Girl may not be for everyone. You don’t have to be rich to live well and your place doesn’t have to be perfect but it has to be clean and well situated. Where you live should be safe, family friendly, and inhabited by good, honest people, who work hard for everything they have. The man of your dreams should feel comfortable meeting your neighbors or taking your pooch for a jog around the block. When he’s visiting, he should encounter pleasantries.

What he should not encounter is a mugger.

Family friendly neighborhoods are a great place to live, even if you don’t have a family just yet.

Here are a few tips for choosing the right neighborhood, if you plan on moving in the near future. After all, change your surroundings and you’ll change your life!

Decide what sort of neighborhood you’d prefer by considering the following:

Do you have kids or plan on having kids? Naturally, you’ll want to review the best schools, parks, and recreation centers. Also, look for signs of other families with children in the area.

What sort of building would you prefer? Consider your lifestyle and the sort of life you’d love to lead, as well as the sort of lifestyle you can afford, when choosing a dwelling. Whether it’s a single family home, a co-op, an apartment or condo, be sure it’s what’s best for you, your wallet, and the quality of life you desire.

How far away is your job? Your daily commute to and from work can add stress and unhappiness to your life and keep you away from the home and decor you love! If at all possible, be sure your new home is within thirty minutes of your workplace because, the sooner you can get out of traffic, the sooner you can enjoy your home.

What are you missing? If there are things you’ve been wishing your current home and neighborhood had, look for those things when searching for a new place.

What’s in walking distance? Look at what sort of eateries, entertainment, and shopping establishments are within walking distance from a potential new place. Also, how far is the nearest medical center, urgent care, and/or hospital?

Keep an eye out for deal breakers. When looking for that perfect or near perfect place and neighborhood, don’t ignore things you absolutely do not want. Your new environment should make you happy and at ease.

Is it safe? Be sure to check the crime stats of this new, potential neighborhood and the neighborhoods surrounding it.

Pinpoint the access to public transportation. Some people would rather not be near any public transportation routes, which tend to make neighborhoods more accessible to outsiders. Others prefer to live near public transit routes, especially those who depend on them to get around.

Before you go galavanting around the city looking for the perfect place to live, use the internet to your advantage. If looking for a place to rent or buy, try websites like Trulia, Zillow, or your local MLS listings. Many rental and real estate sites also have mobile apps so, be sure to search your app store for useful apps to assist in your life changing home search.

If you love where you live and have no intentions of moving but think there are a few things that can stand to be changed, be proactive in getting those nuisances removed. If it’s something you can do yourself, do it! If it’s something out of your capacity, contact the proper authorities and make it happen. You should feel good about where you live and when you feel good, you summon great things (and men) into your life.

If you’ve already found the perfect neighborhood and home that fits your needs and tastes, you’re already ahead of the game! All you have to do, now, is prepare your place for the blessings you will call into your life and, for all intents and purposes, we’re going to focus on one particular blessing—a man!

If he seems annoyed by the children playing in the street, makes fun of the corny couple next door in the matching, reflective workout gear, or complains about how far he had to drive to get to you, dump him. He already hates your neighborhood and won’t want to spend any quality time there, though, he may not have an issue with a few sleepovers.

Everyone’s abilities are different. Always live within your means but live the best quality of life within the perimeters. When you meet the man you want, he should be meeting you at your best!

The majority of you reading this are most likely, settled into a home with no intensions of leaving any time soon. But, many of you may be contemplating a move or some sort of drastic change to jump start your life, overall, including your love life and luck with men. It’s no secret that you are what you eat and birds of a feather flock together—you’ve been hearing these mantras all your life. As for me, I have always heard this one—learn to love where you live; it’s a little something my mother used to say when I was a kid. I didn’t understand it then but I get it now. As it pertains to you, where you decide to live your life and the love you have for that decision, shows a man you won’t just settle for anything. You are discerning and are willing to work a little harder for a better quality of life. Men love ambition!

Some communities are built around apartment dwellings, with each building very different from the next. Take your time and choose the one perfect for you.

When your date drives through a neighborhood lined with homes that are clean and well-maintained, it will give him a pretty good idea of what to expect when he reaches your place.

You don’t have to live in a single family dwelling to impress visitors. Apartment and condominium buildings with attractive design and well-kept grounds are just as impressive (if not more) and are less responsibility for you!

It’s difficult to show your individuality in a track home, master planned community with a Home Owner’s Association dictating what you can and cannot modify on and around the exterior of your home. However, there is a sense of peace and order when driving through such a community. Your date will feel and respect this as he enters your neighborhood.

Every neighborhood and its structures are vastly different. Closely knitted homes tend to have closely knitted neighbors. Your date will feel a sense of community when he drives through and, maybe, a sense of belonging.

Consider what your neighborhood looks like at night. A well-lit street casts a safe, warming glow over its homes and makes it easier for your man to find you. Plus, lighting adds additional safety and ambiance during those moonlit strolls you plan on having.

How ideal is it to have a home just steps from a public park or walking trail! Open spaces like these add an extra layer of things you and your date can do outside your home without going too far, making your place a hub for all sorts of enjoyable activities!

Mature neighbors are a plus. Keep away from neighborhoods zoned for university frat houses and areas known for younger inhabitants, night clubs, and house parties. A mature man cannot have a mature relationship in an immature setting. Check the neighborhood’s statistics for the average age of homeowners.

A home or building off the main road gives an added sliver of privacy and quiet. Sometimes, it’s easier to insulate a new relationship and grow your family when your home isn’t inundated with the sound of passing pedestrians or motor traffic.

Lastly, if you are a lover of pets, consider if your neighborhood is pet friendly. Maybe you already have a pet or wouldn’t object to having a man who already has a pet. Either way, be sure you have considered the safety and exercise space for your pet or potential pet. If your man is a pet owner, he’ll be thinking of the same thing, too!
