A Tender Embrace

To see a child so full of life is a comforting treat. We see motivation in young lives and hope that this drive will remain even into their senior years. To accomplish this we need to keep up the pace and strive to increase our awareness to continue and press on. While walking quickly in a mall one day an older gentleman, or at least older than me, reached out and said, “Sonny I wish I could walk as fast as you!” To keep our youthfulness has to do with what we put into our bodies and how we move through the day, so-called exercise. I do not like the words diet or exercise. It should not be a diet in the traditional sense but rather a change in our eating habits, and a way of life that fills us with energy. We also need to include movement to be youthful and able, walking, moving and stretching like a child.

This mother had her hands full with a lively child who had energy to spare. To work with a high energy person we need to work fast, letting the scene develop but anticipating and always ready to act. I had to know the child’s next move. As has been said of Wayne Gretzky, he skates where the puck will be, not where it is; this made him one of the greatest hockey players in history, Mr. 99.
