Most people think of the holidays as a time to spend with friends and family, celebrating traditions and making happy memories. It can be a very joyous time, something to look forward to all year long. But for those people who don’t have families or friends, the holidays can be very isolating and lonely, something to dread rather than anticipate.

That’s the case for Nate and Fiona. They’re both lonely—Fiona by circumstance, and Nate by choice. Neither one of them sees the holidays as something to get excited about, especially when Fiona’s life is threatened. But as they deal with the mysterious dangers surrounding Fiona, they both come to realize that there’s more to life than work, and sometimes, you really can have it all—a family (complete with a pampered cat), friends and a fulfilling job. And don’t forget the Christmas tree!
