“Stop the car,” I said.
“Be sensible,” Theodora said. “I haven’t even gotten to thing number four.”
“Stop the car, please.”
She stopped the car, perhaps because I had said “please.” I stepped out onto the curb of a quiet street, although practically all of the streets in Stain’d-by-the-Sea were quiet.
