ACT SECOND.

SCENE I.— A fountain in the park.

SCENE II.— An apartment in the castle. GOLAUD discovered, stretched. upon his bed; MÉLISANDE, by his bedside .

SCENE III.— Before a grotto.

SCENE IV.— An apartment in the castle, ARKËL and PÉLLÉAS discovered.

ACT THIRD

SCENE I.— An apartment in the castle. PÉLLÉAS and MÉLISANDE discovered , MÉLISANDE plies her distaff at the back of the room.

SCENE II.— One of the towers of the castle.—watchman's round passes. under a window in the tower.

SCENE III.— The-vaults of the castle.

SCENE IV.— A terrace at the exit of the vaults. Enter GOLAUD and PÉLLÉAS.

SCENE V.— Before the castle.

ACT FOURTH

SCENE I.— A corridor in the castle.

SCENE II.— An apartment in the castle. ARKËL and MÉLISANDE discovered.

SCENE III.— A terrace of the castle. Little YNIOLD discovered,. trying to lift a bowlder.

SCENE IV.— A fountain in the park.

ACT FIFTH.

SCENE I.— A lower hall in the castle. The women servants discovered,. gathered together, while without children are playing before one of. the ventilators of the hall.

SCENE II.— An apartment in the castle.

SCENE I.—ALLADINE discovered, her forehead against one of the. windows that open on the park. Enter ABLAMORE.

SCENE II.— A drawbridge over the moats of the palace . PALOMIDES and ALLADINE, with her pet lamb, appear at the two ends of the. bridge. KING ABLAMORE leans out from a window of the tower .

SCENE III.— A room in the palace . ABLAMORE and ALLADINE discovered .

SCENE IV.— The apartment of ASTOLAINE. ASTOLAINE and PALOMIDES discovered .

ACT THIRD.

SCENE II.— A chamber in the palace .

SCENE III.— A corridor before the apartment of ALLADINE. Enter ASTOLAINE and the SISTERS OF PALOMIDES.
