Abstract
ОглавлениеMen and women have bodies with obvious biological differences, they are enrolled in a social world with its own rules and culture in which people live, and define femininity and masculinity norms. Health and disease present differences not only because of these biological and cultural differences but in the way in which the health care system serves the needs of women and men.
Hidden morbidities refer to those diseases wich cause shame or taboo and are not addressed by patients or health professionals, suffering sexual health are very often hidden by men and women for different reasons related to gender constructions. This proposal tries to generate in healthcare professionals a reflection that leads them to seek actively this hidden morbidities, to make them visible; based on the way in which gender and its impact on health is built differential; and thus achieve the restoration of the sexual health of people and the state of general welfare.
