Kathy’s plan was to destroy the relationship he had with Serena. She wanted to make his wife lose her trust in him. However, she could not just show up at her door and tell her everything. Not yet any way. Kathy was jealous on Serena’s beauty and on her perfect life. She wanted to drive her crazy little by little. One day when Liam forgot his cell phone in his office, she quickly checked Serena’s phone number. Even then she had a feeling she might need it someday. She grabbed her cell phone and wrote:

“Tell you husband I’m pregnant. He is going to be a daddy again.”

When Serena read the SMS, she dropped the phone on the floor. The color disappeared from her face and she looked like she was about to faint. She trusted her husband completely but that message was too much for her. She wondered if it was just a bad joke. But who would want to hurt her so bad? When Liam got back home that night, she showed him the message. His hands were trembling and when she looked into her eyes, she knew. The overwhelming guilt she saw let her know more than he could had done it with words. Serena felt her whole world crumbling at her feet. She could not scream or make a scene because their children were in the next room. She was so shocked that she could not find any words. All she could say was:

“You broke my heart…”

With tears in her eyes, she slammed the bedroom door and left him sleep on the couch. The reason he didn’t tell her was because he did not feel she deserved to suffer. As far as he was concerned, it was just a mistake. He felt guilty about it and he was ready to live with that guilt for the rest of his life. Liam thought it was better to let her calm down and talk the next day. He planned to finally get a day off from work. This was more important than his job. His marriage was in trouble and he had to make Serena see that she was the only woman for him. He could blame it on being drunk but he had no idea why it happened. It was like for a few moments he lost his mind. Needless to say, Liam could not sleep at all that night. Before she got up, he went and bought her favorite flowers. He filled the living room with them and waited patiently for Serena to get out of the bedroom.

Suddenly, he realized something was wrong. The house was all quiet. By this time he could hear his children. Liam stormed into the bedroom and he was shocked to see there was no one there. Serena took the kids and left while he was out buying the flowers. On the nightstand he saw a note:

“I took the kids and left to my mom’s house. I need time to think.”

He kneeled on the floor and started to cry like a child.

“What have I done??”

He tried to call her mom but she told him she did not want to talk to him yet. He understood she needed some space but he was terrified. Liam could not imagine his life without Serena. He knew it was all his fault but he hated the way Kathy acted. He called her and asked her to meet him. First of all, he wanted to make sure her pregnancy was not real. This would mean the end of his marriage. He hoped Serena would forgive him for the cheating but he knew in his heart that she could not get over it if he had a baby with another woman. This was worse since Serena was trying to get pregnant herself.

She just told him that the best Christmas gift for her would be another baby. This would make Liam really happy too. He wanted another child but not from another woman. He also knew that if Kathy was really pregnant, he had to take care of her and the baby. He loved his children more than anything else in the world. Liam could never imagine not being in the life of his child. This is why it was really important to find out the truth.

Kathy was nervous about meeting Liam. She knew he was probably really mad and with good reason. He sounded really upset on the phone. They met at a coffee shop. She felt more comfortable with meeting in a public space. She made sure to have some tears in her eyes when he showed up.

“Liam, I am so sorry for sending that message to your wife. I was so hurt…I know you don’t feel anything for me but I love you…There… I said it.”

“I don’t feel anything for you! You got that right! I was honest with you and you knew how much my family means to me. What happened between us was a big mistake. You had no right to destroy my marriage. My wife left the house and she took the kids too. I might lose everything…”

“Not everything…” She said while rubbing her stomach.

“Do you mean?? Is it true? Are you really pregnant with my child?”

“Yes, I am. I know you are not happy about this but I am not asking anything from you. I came here today to ask you to forgive me. If you want to be in the life of your child you are welcome. If not, I will not blame you. It is up to you! Here is an echography picture.”

She knew Liam would ask for proof of pregnancy and she was a step ahead of him. She asked a friend to get her a fake echography scan online. Of course she realized sooner or later he will see there is no baby. However, her main goal now was to get her revenge and make him get a divorce. She also hoped to start a relationship with him and to get pregnant for real.

Liam was feeling really confused. As much as he hated having a child with another woman, he could not help getting excited about his unborn baby. Serena was still living with her mom and she was not ready to take a decision regarding their marriage yet. He went there every day to see his children and to talk to her. As much as she tried, Serena could not hate him. Her love for him was as strong as ever. She was hurt not just because he slept with another woman. That she could forgive. Because of the routine, his job, and children, they took each other for granted lately.

He was a man and in a way she could understand. However, this was not just about an affair. He was going to have a baby with that woman. Worst of all was that she really wanted a baby herself and this hurt her even more. Serena had no idea if their marriage could be saved but at the same time she could not let him go.

While her mom was out with the children, they were home alone. Like two strangers, none of them knew what to say. Liam was trying to find the right words not to upset her even more. After long moments of silence, he went near her, grabbed her head between his palms and kissed her. It was a kiss filled with passion and hunger. His heart was pounding really hard. This could had been their last kiss and he did not want to end it. She pushed him away and slapped his face. He knew he deserved it and he did not say a word. Next thing he knew, she pushed him on the floor and ripped his clothes off. It was like her anger transformed into wild passion. She was on top and she had all the control. He was happy to surrender to her desire.

“This changes nothing.” She said after they both exploded in pleasure.

They had to dress in a hurry because the car with her mom and kids was already in the driveway. Liam hugged his children and left. For the first time since Kathy ruined his life, he was starting to have some hope.

He asked Kathy to let him know when her next doctor appointment was. He wanted to be there just like he was for his other two children. Liam hoped to convince Kathy to let him in the child’s life without having a romantic relationship with her. He had a feeling this was not going to be very easy. Kathy seemed decided to be with him. She cried and tried to kiss him every time they met to talk about the pregnancy.

One day he took her by surprise and just showed up at her house. He needed to clear up their relationship and to make her understand that he wanted to get back with his wife. She was shocked to see him there and she didn’t look too pleased. When he got into the house, he realized why.

“Are you smoking??” He asked filled with anger.

“No, of course not!”

“Kathy, don’t lie to me! It smells like smoke in here.”

“I had a friend over and she smoked. I need to open some windows. I would never put my child in danger. You know that…”

“I don’t know anything. I don’t trust you.”

“Well, we need to work on this if we are going to raise a child together.”

“That is what I want to talk to you about. You can count on me with this baby. I hope you know that. But nothing can happen between us. I want to get back to my wife. I love her…”

“Of course, I wasn’t going to ask you to be with me. I love you, but I know your heart belongs to Serena. I am here for you to talk or anything else…” She said while kneeling in front of him.

Before he realized what was happening, she got his pants down and took him deep in her mouth. He got hard and he was begging her to stop. The feeling was so intense, that for a few moments he could not get himself to push her away. He stopped her just in time when the image of Serena’s beautiful smile came into his mind.

“Stop it! We cannot do this anymore. As I said, I want to get back to my wife.”

“This was just some innocent fun.” She said smiling.

Liam left and he promised himself to never come to her home again. They were going to meet just in public spaces. Before he left he gave her some money. He knew she didn’t have a job anymore and he wanted to make sure she has all she needs.

After he left, Kathy counted the money and smiled. This was the easiest “job” she ever had. It was time for shopping. She got dressed and went out to buy a new pair of shoes. If she could not have him for herself, she was going to take all his money. She was also going to make sure he did not get back to Serena. If she could not have him, she wasn’t going to either. Kathy hated how beautiful Serena looked without much effort. She had that natural beauty that could drive any man crazy.

She thought it was time for another SMS to her rival:

“I am so sorry for ruining your marriage. Sometimes the heart wants what the heart wants…I promise to take good care of him.”

Serena read the message and even though she knew Kathy wanted to make her suffer, she could not stop her tears. She knew Liam’s heart belonged to her but Kathy made sure to remind her of his betrayal. With pain in her heart, she realized she could not live like this. She had sex with her husband the other day but she could not look him in the eyes without imagining him with Kathy. When she saw him playing with the children she remembered another one was on the way. This made her come to a sad decision. She went to a lawyer and started the divorce process. The lawyer told her she has to file first for separation and then for a divorce. She followed the procedure and hoped her children will not be too affected by this. The pain was so overwhelming that she cried herself to sleep every night.
