The Whole Picture
It’s so important for women to be viewed as the whole picture and not just by the frame. We have had limits set on us for many years but it’s time we stand up, speak out, and let the world know we can set our own limitations. We have the ability to do whatever we want to do and really don’t need outside weighs holding us down. Although an augmented number of women have made their presence visible and impactful we still have some work to do.
Women can be considered great cooks and even better parents, but we can do so much more and to be honest a lot of the successes in our surroundings have a woman’s hands and head in it. We just have not been given the appropriate credit. Career equality has improved significantly over the years but will it continue to improve or will it stagnate where it is today?
In too many organizations, women are still faced with mortifications ranging from career limitations, lower salaries, and double work. In so many aspects, women do more work; however, they are paid less and progress slower in their careers. We are multitalented, have a strong desire for success within, and we are willing to work hard for what we really want.
Women we really should be given credit for our outstanding ability to create balance with our careers and parenthood. We should also be acknowledged for our ability to lead, hold things together, and fix things that are broken. Women have you ever noticed that we have all the family responsibilities while men seem to always take breaks from parenting when their careers are growing.
Women are not acknowledged enough for our ability to balance our careers, parenting and relationships. Not only are we not giving enough credit, but we are not being paid enough money either for our contributions in the workplace.
Women stand up and speak up for yourself, do not sit back and think what you deserve will be passed to you. You must reach. Many times your counterparts know you are doing a good job; however, it will be too inconvenient for them to lose you because it may require more effort on their behalf. The situation will simply fall under “if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it.”
Take away: Women we were created by the almighty, a power higher than what we see down here on a daily basis, so don’t limit yourself to what is thought to be the norm for women. You have the ability to paint a pretty picture made out of frame; therefore, it will force viewers to look at the whole picture. You no longer have to be quiet and passive, speak to be heard and speak to be understood.
