ОглавлениеThe Cenozoic era is divided into the Tertiary and Quaternary (or Anthropogene) periods. The Quaternary is further divided into the Pleistocene epoch, a period of advances and retreats of huge ice sheets; and the Holocene epoch, or recent times, which began about 10,000 years ago.
