The Centre for Disease Control (CDC) recommends the following vaccines – no matter where you are visiting in Africa:

 Hepatitis A or immune globulin (IG)

 Hepatitis B (a disease transmitted via blood)

 Typhoid

 Booster doses for tetanus-diphtheria, measles, and a one-time dose of polio vaccine.
