STRAIGHTENING BUCKLED TENON SAW.
ОглавлениеIf a tenon saw or dovetail saw is buckled only slightly, a light tap or two on the end of the back with a hammer, as shown in Fig. 320, should bring the blade true. If this fails, take the back right off, and hammer it so that the edges of the slit fit tightly together. Keep the slit perfectly straight. Next hammer the buckled part of the blade on a flat and smooth iron surface. Then enter the blade into the slit of the back, as shown by Fig. 321, and gradually drive down by striking the teeth with a flat wooden striker; driving it not more than about 1/4 in. into the back.
