FOREWORD
ОглавлениеIntensity. If had to pick one of the twelve Warrior Poet Wisdom virtues as my favourite, this would be it. It gets me out of bed in the morning when I don’t feel my legs will hold me up. It gets my fingers typing when I’m not in a creative mood. It shouts at me to order chicken teriyaki at the food court in the mall instead of fried chicken, pizza or French fries. It gets me walking on my breaks when I’d rather just sit and waste time. It’s the pounding in my heart that may scare me, but I know it won’t kill me. It’s the source of a lot of what I’ve accomplished and continue to accomplish. It’s vigor. It’s boldness. It’s concentration. It’s emotion. It’s controlled and calculated ferocity. It’s unapologetic. It’s unpleasant to those who lack it. And it’s absolutely, positively essential in everything you do, whether it’s operating a machine in a factory, playing a piano, building a spreadsheet or painting a picture. Furrow that brow, purse those lips, clench those molars, breath in long, hard and loud, and breath out even longer, harder and louder. Do it with intensity or don’t bother doing it, warrior!
