Reg refuses to make complete public knowledge of his chemistry formulas for good reason, so leaves on a sour note from MIT. Saffron decides to sell her parent’s home and go on an extended College lecture tour headlining her specialization. This lasts for two years. Boring as hell. She returns to Long Island and buys a home.

As for Reg? On their last night tryst in her Boston apartment, he tells her that he is moving to San Francisco for a while. He has accepted a three-year contract with the U.S. Department of Defense. Secret squirrel stuff.

They knew that they would meet again.
